Introduction
Protecting your personal data matters to us. This privacy policy informs you, in accordance with Art. 13 GDPR, what data is processed when you use our website, for what purpose, and what rights you have.

The controller responsible for data processing under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Legal Basis
We only process personal data where the law permits it. Depending on the purpose, we rely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — for example, for Google Analytics and Google AdSense — or on our legitimate interest in providing a functional and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can withdraw any consent at any time, with effect for the future, via our cookie settings.
Data We Process
We process the following categories of data:
- Analytics Data: With your prior consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site, including pages viewed, session duration, and general device and location data. Google Analytics is not loaded without your consent.
- Local Storage: We store your preferences (theme, recent tools, favorites) in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us.
- Conversion Data: All conversions and calculations are performed locally in your browser. We do not store or transmit these inputs.
- Advertising Data: With your prior consent, we display ads via Google AdSense. Google may process cookie identifiers and interaction data to serve and measure ads. AdSense is not loaded without your consent.
- Currency Data: When you open the currency converter, your IP address is automatically sent to our exchange-rate API provider so current rates can be retrieved. This is necessary to provide the feature you requested (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and happens regardless of your cookie choice.
Cookies
We use cookies only to the following extent:
- Analytics Cookies: Only after you consent, Google Analytics sets cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_*) to track usage patterns. See Google's privacy policy for retention details.
- Advertising Cookies: Only after you consent, Google AdSense sets cookies to serve and measure ads. See Google's privacy policy for details.
- Preference Data: For technical reasons, your theme preference (light/dark mode) and your cookie choice are stored in your browser's local storage, not as a cookie.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and withdraw your consent via our cookie settings; some features may then be unavailable.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics: Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (parent company: Google LLC, USA). Processing occurs only with your prior consent; data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can additionally opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google's Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google AdSense: Provider: Google Ireland Limited (parent company: Google LLC, USA). We partly fund this free service through advertising. Processing occurs only with your prior consent. You can manage personalized advertising in your Google Ad Settings.
- Exchange Rate API (exchangerate-api.com): For real-time exchange rates in the currency converter; see the IP transmission note above.
Data Security
All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is protected via HTTPS encryption. Since we do not store personal data on our own servers, the risk of a data breach on our end is minimal; processing by Google is subject to Google's own security measures.
Retention Period
We only store personal data for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose, or until you withdraw a given consent. Google processes analytics and advertising data according to its own retention periods described in Google's privacy policy. Locally stored preferences remain until you clear them via your browser.
Your Rights
As a data subject under the GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Access (Art. 15 GDPR): to request information about the personal data we process about you
- Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): to request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): to request deletion of your data
- Restriction (Art. 18 GDPR): to request restriction of the processing of your data
- Data Portability (Art. 20 GDPR): to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
- Objection (Art. 21 GDPR): to object to processing based on your particular situation
- Withdraw Consent: to withdraw any consent at any time, with effect for the future, via our cookie settings, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal
- Right to Complain: to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the authority responsible for us:
The Brandenburg State Commissioner for Data Protection and for the Right of Access to Files (Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg), Stahnsdorfer Damm 77, 14532 Kleinmachnow, Germany — www.lda.brandenburg.de
Children
Our services are not directed at children. Since we do not offer registration and do not actively request personal data, we do not knowingly process data from children.
